EVERGREEN PARK, IL – Ten Evergreen Park Community High School students sharpened their leadership skills by participating in the Cebrin Goodman Teen Institute (CGTI) annual conference at Eastern Illinois University earlier this month. 

EPCHS students Cam Brennan, Ryan Brennan, Charlotte Mankowski, Izayah Lewis, Jamari Jeffries, Emily Mills, Taylor Black, Zoey Leech, Abigail Mahoney and Bruce Negron joined hundreds of middle school and high school students from across Illinois in participating in the award-winning leadership program that empowers students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to grow their skills, make healthy decisions and create impactful community change. 

During the conference, students heard motivational speakers and participated in fun group activities and breakout sessions in preparation for this year’s leadership activities at EPCHS, including the annual Snowball retreat held at Camp Manitoqua in Frankfort. 

An award ceremony held at the end of the conference recognized EPCHS’ own rising junior Jamari Jeffries, who was awarded the CGTI Alumni Scholarship Award for his commitment to a healthy lifestyle and his enthusiastic approach to the CGTI experience.
