Science teacher Bryn Zingrebe has been named the 2024 Outstanding Early Career Educator by the Illinois State Board of Education.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL —- Evergreen Park Community High School is pleased to announce that science teacher Bryn Zingrebe has been named to the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Teacher of the Year Cohort as its 2024 Outstanding Early Career Educator.

Zingrebe is one of 15 teachers statewide selected to the cohort, the ISBE announced Tuesday.

“These 15 teachers have displayed unparalleled excellence, service, and leadership within and beyond their classrooms,” said State Superintendent of Education, Dr. Tony Sanders. “Each of these teachers has a powerful story and message to share, and I am proud to recognize their efforts and provide a platform to elevate their voices.”

The ISBE annually selects Regional Teachers of the Year, an Outstanding Early Career Educator and Bilingual, Special Education and Early Childhood Teachers of the Year to be members of the Illinois Teachers of the Year Cohort. ISBE received a record number of nominations and applications for the cohort in 2024.

A committee of administrators, teachers, educational service personnel, student support personnel and past Illinois Teacher of the Year winners selected this year’s awardees.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker added that cohort members like Zingrebe “have demonstrated unwavering commitment to their communities and the young people they serve.”
