EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Evergreen Park Community High School is pleased to share that six recent graduates from the Class of 2024 have earned their AP Capstone diplomas.
AP Capstone is a diploma program from the College Board based on two year-long AP courses, AP Seminar and AP Research. Rather than teaching subject-specific content, these courses develop students’ skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing and presenting, according to the College Board.
The following EPCHS students earned the AP Capstone diploma by scoring a 3 or higher on both the AP Seminar and AP Research exams, in addition to scoring a 3 or higher on at least four additional AP exams: Nathan Brannigan, Skyeleigh Godowic, Dulce Medina, Maya Rayson, Rachel Thomas and Taylor Yeaman.
At the close of the 2023-2024 school year, the first group of EPCHS students completed the AP Research course with a 100 percent pass rate. The 2023-2024 AP class at EPCHS was also the highest performing in school history.
In addition to the six who earned their AP Capstone diplomas, eight EPCHS students have earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate, and several of them are continuing to work toward the AP Capstone Diploma. These students are Eleanor Bulger, Tyler Duran, Hope Etapa, Deijon Feliciano, Peyton Schwarz, Daphne Sichelski, Rosebud Summers and Erin Wade.
