Mathletes compete at conference


On Wednesday evening, the EPCHS Mathletes competed in the Conference Championship held at Oak Lawn High School. The team of Julie Frederickson, Hannah Rahm, Colin Brennan, Liam Kantzler and Brooke Scanlon earned 1st Place in the contest of Permutations/Combinations and Functions/Limits. Two groups took 1st place in their events as well. Congratulations to the senior group of Kayla Benson, Sinead Doogan, Julie Fredrickson, Hannah Rahm and Kris Symanski, and to the junior group of Colin Brennan, Liam Duffy, Liam Kantzler, CJ Kompare and Brooke Scanlon. The junior team of Angela Bosch, Katie Jacobson, Sarah Meyer, Cameron Dunlap, CJ Kompare and Liam Duffy tied for 3rd in Circles, Congruence, and Similarity. The freshman team of John Bledsoe, Danielle Powers, Travis Sirevicius, Cristina Ocampo, Thomas Gricus and Leah Thomas placed 3rd in Order of Operations and Radicals. Congratulations to all of the Mathletes on a great conference season! We look forward to Regionals in February and (hopefully) qualifying for State in May!
