• Graduated from Harvard in 2004
• Join the Marine Corps, was deployed to Iraq with Lima Company, motivating him to help fellow veterans and get involved in politics
• Elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 2010 and rose quickly in the State legislature, serving as Assistant Minority Leader
• In February 2014 he announced his candidacy for U.S. Congress, and was elected United States Representative for Arizona’s 7th district in November 2014
• Congressman Gallego currently serves on the House Armed Services Committee and Natural Resources Committee
• He introduced his first piece of legislation, The Veterans Education Tax Security Act, which will ensure that disabled and deceased veterans are not financially penalized when their federal student loans are lawfully discharged
• Congressmen Gallego is currently working on legislation proposing debt-free college education
