Thomas O'Malley

Superintendent

Matt Dugan

Principal

Mr. Dugan is the Principal at EPCHS. He comes to EPCHS with a wealth of experience in education, most recently serving as an Assistant Principal at J. Sterling Morton West High School. 

Before moving to Morton West, Mr. Dugan served as the Dean of Students at J. Sterling Morton East High School in west suburban Cicero from July 2016 to July 2019, and was then promoted to Lead Dean of Students at Morton East from July 2019 to June 2020. He’s also served as Assistant Principal and Dean of Student Affairs and Operations at Association House High School/El Cuarto Año in Chicago, Facilitator to the Learning Center at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills and a Teacher at Jane Addams Alternative High School in Chicago.

Mr. Dugan earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint Xavier University in 2008 and a master’s degree from Concordia University in 2012, and is currently completing his doctoral program from the University of St. Francis.

Rob McCarthy

Assistant Principal

Mr. McCarthy has been in education for 25 years. He joined the Evergreen Park Community High School administration in 2013 as Dean/Assistant Principal and previously worked in other Illinois schools for 14 years, including three years at EPCHS as a P.E./Health/Driver Education Teacher. Mr. McCarthy attended Milliken University where he was recruited for track and football.  He chose a career in education so he could be someone who inspires future teachers and leaders. He credits two of his high school teachers, Gabe Corey and Sandy Dahlin, for inspiring him to become a teacher.

Jim Donato

Director of Technology

Mr. Donato serves as the Director of Technology at EPCHS. 

Mike Glennon

Director of Public Relations

Mr. Glennon serves as the Director of Public Relations at EPCHS. 

Mary Kerrigan

Director of Special Education

Ms. Kerrigan is the Director of Special Education at EPCHS. 

Matt Kovacs

Director of Discipline

Mr. Kovacs is beginning his 18th year in education and his ninth year at Evergreen Park Community High School. During his time at EPCHS, he has served as a Social Studies teacher, teaching Psychology and AP Psychology, and most recently spent four years as a Dean of Students before becoming Director of Discipline. Throughout his career, Mr. Kovacs has focused on building relationships with students while helping them understand the importance of accountability, personal growth, and making the most of the opportunities available to them. One message he frequently shares with students is, "You don't have to, you get to." He encourages students to embrace the opportunities in front of them and recognize the value in experiences that can help them grow. 

Originally from Michigan, Mr. Kovacs is a proud Michigan Wolverines fan and supporter of Detroit sports. His career and life have taken him to Pawling, New York; St. Louis, Missouri; and Louisville, Kentucky before eventually bringing him back to the Chicagoland area. Outside of school, Mr. Kovacs enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife, Jennifer, recently celebrated 17 years of marriage and have three children, Maisie, Max, and Micah. 

Terry Masterson

Director of Facilities

Mr. Masterson was a carpenter by trade and has spent his entire career in the construction industry. He was a senior project manager prior to becoming a Director of School Facilities. He has been a Director of Facilities for more than 15 years and has managed over $200 million in school construction projects, including $10 million at EPCHS.   

Tim Moran

Director of Public Relations

Mr. Moran is the Director of Public Relations at Evergreen Park Community High School. He arrived at EPCHS in 2021 after a 13-year career in journalism which included stops at The Clinton Journal newspaper in Central Illinois, The News-Dispatch newspaper in Michigan City, Indiana, GreatNews.Life based in Northwest Indiana and Patch Media, where he held roles as a Local Editor for various Chicagoland hyperlocal news websites and a reporter on the National Desk. 

Megan Schillo

Director of Curriculum

Mrs. Schillo the Director of Curriculum at EPCHS. She is an EP Alum and coached volleyball and softball at EPCHS while completing her undergraduate studies at Saint Xavier University. She began her career at Oak Lawn Community High school and spent 16 years in multiple roles as English teacher, coach, Instructional Coach, and English Department Chair. She earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. Before becoming Director of Curriculum, she served as the Division Chair of English and Instructional Leadership Coach. 

Jim Soldan

Director of Athletics

Mr. Soldan came to EPCHS in 2006 and is currently the Athletic Director. In 2019-20 he was named the Athletic Director of the Year by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association. Prior to his role as Athletic Director at EPCHS he was an art teacher and Department Chair for art, industrial technology, music, and P.E. Mr. Soldan attended NIU for his undergraduate degree where he was a NCAA Division 1 wrestler. After college he was a head wrestling coach for 10 years, six at Rich Township and four at EPCHS. During his time as a wrestling coach he led his teams to four conference titles and was also named Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2005. Mr. Soldan completed his master's degree and Type 75 certifications from St. Xavier University.
