·         The boys JV cross country team took a 5th place trophy in the T.F. South Invitational. With over 22 teams and 140 runners the Mustangs placed 5 guys in the top fifty. The Mustangs were led by Anthony (Italian Stallion) Briante who finished 13th. Anthony Betts, Chris Murray, Chris Rizzo, Brian Langevin, Joe Kelleher, and Anthony Briante rounded out the squad. The Varsity had two top twenty finishers in Brandon Ceh 14th and Gino Garcia in 16th. Both runners broke 17:00 minutes on very fast course. Good luck at Riverside Brookfield this Friday.
 
·         Congrats Lady Mustangs Cross Country for finishing 5th out of 21 teams Saturday at the T-F South Invite. The Mustangs were led by returning state qualifier Charlotte Murphy and senior Maggie Dwyer. Strong performances were also turned in by Maggie OToole, Rachel Torrez, and Alyssa Langevin. Haley Schwieger led the fresh/soph team with an amazing run. Go Mustangs!
 
·         The Mustang Football team went to 2-0 Friday night with a 42-18 win over Walter Payton.  Victor Baker had over 200 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.  Alex Ortiz also scored 2 touchdowns with Jeremy Esparza making all 6 extra point kicks.  Niko Garcia led the Defense with 2 interceptions in a total team effort.  Check out www.evergreenparkfootball.com  for highlights, stats and commentary on each game.

·         The freshman football team defeated T-F South 46 to 0 on Saturday behind Don Oresky and Eric Gurrister's strong play. The team played very well as a whole and is looking forward to next week against Eisenhower.
 
·         Attention girls' bowlers from last year's team and anyone who is interested in bowling this year: There will be a meeting immediately after school on Wednesday, September 8 in the staff resource room located at the Sports Gate entrance. Be prompt. 
 
·         There will be a boys' basketball meeting for anyone not on a fall sport. The meeting will take place tomorrow in the Lecture Room at 3:00 p.m. Any questions? See Coach Scaduto.
 
·         Anyone planning on playing baseball this spring needs to attend a meeting on Wednesday in Room 213 k at 3:00.  If you are on a fall sport you do not have to attend but please see Coach Smyth on your own time. 
 
·         Whining over wearisome Wednesdays? Well, don't wallow! Walk your way to room 408 this Wednesday at 3:00pm where the writers of the Mustang Monitor will write this week. Why, if you write what you want, you will win without a worry. Don't wait! We wish to witness you there! Remember, the meeting will take place this Wednesday, September 8th at 3:00 in room 408.
 
·         All Mathletes are to pick up practice packets on Wednesday after school in Room 212.  You must turn in your permission forms at that time also.
