The student International / AFS Club cooperates with the local community chapter to promote and sustain the AFS Foreign Exchange Program and the domestic exchange program in Evergreen Park. Its various activities are directed to help our guest foreign and domestic exchange students in the school. It also raises money and support for our exchange program to other countries.
Evergreen Park has an established AFS program with more than 100 club members. The town is a small one, about 2 miles squared. Downtown Chicago is only 30 minutes away and one of Chicago's borders is next to ours. On the exchange we offer many different activities. One activity that everyone has liked is the ride on Spirit of Chicago. It is a boat cruise with dinner, entertainment, and dancing. We also offer trips to many different sites like Sears Tower, Water Tower (Mall), Buckingham Fountain, various museums, Navy Pier, and other historical buildings. Another activity we offer is an all day field trip to Starved Rock, where we can hike, picnic, play different games, and more. We are looking to host 30-35 people on the exchange and send 30-35 people. In the past we have had very successful exchanges and we are looking for another enjoyable one this year. We offer a great mix of city and suburban life, with a great group of kids that want to meet new people and have an excellent time. Interested in having an exchange with our school?
