Evergreen Park Community High School District 231 is a single building district in Cook County, southwest of Chicago. EPCHS has been accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education and by the North Central Association since 1957. As of the 2007-08 school year, the certified staff comprises 71 members, 79% have a master's degree or graduate work beyond the master's degree. The average class size is 19.5; the counselor/student ratio is 305:1. Traditionally, more than 88% of the graduates attend college with over 45% going to 4-year universities. Currently, the school has an enrollment of over 950 students. Under the No Child Left Behind Act, the high school has made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) annually for 5 consecutive years, every year since the requirement began.
